It is easy to say, "What happens in mediation, stays in mediation;" but what does that mean? What do you, as a mediator, need to be aware of to protect your client's information? Are mediators mandatory reporters? Can the children know the terms of a Mediated Agreement? How do you protect yourself from being sued?

This course was taught as part of a Basic Mediation Training, arranged by Mediate.com and Dr. Clare Fowler at the University of Oregon School of Law, January, 2019. The instructor is Phyllis Pollack. Phyllis has been researching confidentiality and all of its nuances and exceptions for the Southern California Mediation's Asociations recommendations on confidentiality.

This course also includes written materials which explain the Uniform Mediation Act, and begins looking at individual state exceptions.
